Camp Kindred Canine
Board & Train Programs
Kindred Kindergarten
(Puppy Basics)
This is a 14-day minimum board & train program for puppies 16-weeks to a year old. In this program we focus heavily on socialization, and getting a solid structure of basic manners including sit, down, wait, stay, leash skills, and recall (come when called) work. Your pup will have a solid understanding of these concepts, and some basic proofing in the real world. We also focus on maintaining polite behaviors, and don’t reinforce mouthingy/biting or jumping up. Your pup will LIVE with us in our home and not a facility, and receive lots of love and care in addition to concentrated training focus.
The program includes one 45-minute private session to assess behavior and set goals, and then two 45-minute private sessions after the stay to transfer the skills back home to you so you can maintain the work that was done (one session happens at the time of pick up, and one is set to be booked within a month after pickup—this can be virtual if preferred).
Cost: $3000
Nonrefundable deposit: $750
Includes:
14 days of boarding
14 days of daily training
Three (3) 45-minute training coaching sessions (one before & two after your dog’s stay)
Family Dog
Do you have an adult dog who needs to brush up on their manners and basic life skills? We tend to expect our dogs to fit into our lives, but sometimes they need some help learning what we want and what will make it worthwhile for them. This program will go over basic manners and proofing them, so that your dog will be able to focus in a variety of environments instead of having “selective hearing.” Your dog will LIVE with us in our home and not a facility, and receive lots of love and care in addition to concentrated training focus.
This program is 14 days (minimum) and the basic behaviors we’ll cover will be sit, down, stay, wait, stationing/calm settle, leash skills, and recall (come when called). They will also get lots of socialization and impulse control training. If there are specific manner objectives, they can be discussed at our initial session. Note: this program is not for dogs with serious behavior issues, such as reactivity, severe anxiety, separation anxiety, etc. Contact me for referrals for these issues!
Cost: $2500

How it Works…
The first step of enrolling your pup for board & train is to schedule a meet & greet/initial session. This visit is for me to meet your dog and asses their temperament and discuss what training goals are, and you to meet me and see where your pup will be staying and how they’ll be learning, to determine if we’re a good fit.
Then we schedule a trial boarding night (not required for puppies)! Assuming your dog settles in well and can learn in our environment, we then book the rest of the stay at Camp Kindred Canine. The trial night is included in the cost of the package.
Board & train programs are 14 days. Only ONE Board & Train dog is accepted at a time. If we have availability, you can plan it during a vacation, or anytime we have space available. Two full weeks gives us time to work with your dog on first learning the cues, and then proofing the cues (an essential step) to a consistent degree of reliability.
During their stay, you will receive daily updates with pictures and a summary of how they’re doing. You’ll also get a number of videos throughout their stay illustrating what your dog is learning and how.
We use only force-free, positive reinforcement based training that prioritizes the dog’s welfare and really helps the dog think and retain what they learn—rather than responding to avoid an aversive. Dogs thrive and enjoy training because it’s fun and engaging! It is truly a work of trust and mutual respect.
Once the two weeks is complete, your pup is ready to go home. At pick up we will spend 45 minutes on a training transfer session, so that you get to see all your dog has learned in person and learn how to maintain these behaviors at home.
Within the next month, you get to schedule another 45 minute coaching session so we can check in with how things are going, and I can answer any questions about maintaining the trained behaviors. This must be used within the 30-days after the Board & Train.
Policies
All Board & Train dogs must have a meet & greet or training session before the booking can be confirmed.
All dogs must be fully vaccinated and up to date on Rabies, bordetella, and DHPP.
Boarding dogs must stay a full 14-days for training in order to make a sufficient amount of progress.
Pup parents must commit to maintaining these behaviors in order for them to remain strong! I will provide you with the knowledge and support needed to do this during our coaching sessions.
Deposits: 25% of the cost of the program is required to hold the space. This is refundable if the initial session and/or trial night proves that we are not a good fit before the board & train stay begins (minus the cost of the initial visit and trial night).
